Heartsease

Funny name, heartsease. Also, it seems, known as pansy. I caught this particular pair in front of the library.
Just to make it funnier: the Danish name for these flowers translates literally to 'step-mother-flower'. No idea where that came from. Or if she's a wicked stepmother.

Our national news last night commented on an early spring for your area.... almost 4 weeks early.

Probably because all the cold and snow is in this part of the world....

Frankly, it feels as if we went straight from autumn into spring and skipped winter altogether. Most places haven't seen snow at all, and those that have only got an inch or so. It's really messing up the natural order of things.

This picture gives me hope that spring and summer really are coming. I can't wait to fill my 365 blog with gardening pictures instead of snow pictures.

You can have some of the snow we're getting here in the States, if that would help...

Oh my goodness, I can't believe I'm looking at pictures of flowers! That's very hopeful!
